Inspection Planning
What to Request in a CCTV Pipe Inspection Report
The most useful inspection is one the owner and project team can identify, review and use for the next decision.
Identify the system and scope
Provide the pipe layout, structure and line identifiers, diameter, material and approximate lengths. Identify cleaning needs, access restrictions and any known flow conditions that could affect visibility.
Agree on the deliverables
- Video files linked to the inspected lines
- Inspection date, direction and limits
- Observed conditions and locations using the agreed reporting convention
- Uninspected portions or visibility limitations
- File format and delivery requirements specified by the owner
Confirm special requirements before mobilization
If an owner requires a particular coding standard, operator certification or reporting software, include it in the inquiry. The project team should agree on these requirements rather than assume all inspections produce the same deliverables.
Use the findings to plan follow-up
Observed defects may call for further evaluation, maintenance or rehabilitation. An inspection report supports those discussions; it does not guarantee owner acceptance or replace design review where needed.
